Ermənistanın ABŞ-yə bu dəhlizi verməkdən yayınmasının arxasında duran səbəb, böyük ehtimalla, Ermənistan baş nazirinin Rusiyaya səfəri və səfər çərçivəsində keçirdiyi görüşlərdə apardığı danışıqlardır. Bu, Rusiya tərəfindən təzyiq ola bilər, yaxud hansısa məsələdə bazarlıq etməsi ilə bağlı ola bilər.
